An occasional cockpit snack table
What is the issue?
Active cockpits rarely afford a secure and solid place to rest drinks and snacks.
Why address this?
A convenient place to rest drinks securely avoids waste, associated spillage clean ups, breakages and just makes life that bit more pleasant.
How to address this?
Build a snack table and mount a pair of holding brackets in a convenient area of the cockpit as presented in figure 1.
For further versatility measure the width of the backboard so that it matches the bottom washboard. By doing this a second mount point for the tray is available at the bottom of the companionway.
This approach may not be for everyone as it adds to the general clutter aboard in a confined environment but for others it may be convenient solution.
