Convenience at the navigation station.

This is a minimised 'Lite' page, want to see the real page?

What is the issue?
You can never find the pencil and dividers when you need them. They also fly across the cabin when a yacht is tacking or rolling.

Why address this?
This is highly inconvenient when you want to plot your position and dividers can damage the woodwork finish falling about the cabin.

How to address this?
Make convenient holders for the navigation instruments as presented for the pencil in figure 1.

Although the diagram presents a pencil holder the approach can be adopted for most instruments such as dividers. The key is to utilise a piece of wood that matches the interior trim.
When drilling use a ‘tape stop’ to prevent the drill hole going out through the lower piece. This enables it to provide a seat.
