A boarding ladder on a stern mounted rudder stock


What is the issue?
It is virtually impossible for a swimmer to climb aboard most yachts. The topsides are too high and afford no purchase.

Why address this?
For safety reasons and leisure, such as swimming, a convenient means of re-boarding from the water is welcome.

How to address this?
If you have a vessel with a stern mounted rudder stock it is often lightened by cut-outs. These can be structured to provide steps as presented in figure 1.
