Comfortable lifelines to lay against

What is the issue?
Some cockpits have natural seating or resting positions that find crew leaning back on the guard rails. A cockpits arrangement leads to this position but this can be very uncomfortable after a short amount of time.

Why address this?
If the cockpit inclines people to recline against the guard rails you should facilitate the cockpits natural working layout to optimise the vessel.

How to address this?
A simple solution is to replace the wire guard rails with webbing as presented in figure 1

Automobile seat belts offer the same strength as guard rails and can be picked up in most breakers yards for very little money. However, unlike the stainless steel guard rails, you will need to watch them for UV degradation and replace them in time.
