This excellent anchorage is upon the eastern outskirts of Waterford City and is encircled by the River Suir’s main channel to the north side and Kings Channel to the south side. Cheek Point
Cheek Point resides inside Waterford Harbour at the confluence of the Suir and Barrow Rivers approximately 10 miles north from Hook Head lighthouse. The small harbour, channel and immediate vicinity dries out from the shore as much as 200 metres at low water and boats planning to stay here need to take to the mud or come alongside the wall at high water. Dungarvan Town Quay
Dungarvan Harbour is a provincial town on the south county Waterford coastline twelve miles northeast of Youghal. It is separated from the sea by a shallow two mile wide eastward-facing bay that restricts access to the latter half of the tide. The town quay dries at low water but there are a few floating berths in deep pools. Vessels planning to lay alongside must be prepared to take to the ground.
